The new home of Guinness in London

Put simply, Open Gate Brewery is the home of Guinness in London. What does that actually mean? Well, it’s a working brewery, a place to eat delicious food, a shopping destination and an entertainment hub.

Guinness has a long history with the capital. In fact, the London porters that revolutionised the brewing industry inspired Arthur Guinness to experiment with his own recipe which led him to create the classic stout we know and love today.

As has always been the case at Guinness, community is the key ingredient that runs through Open Gate Brewery. Feel it in the bustle of Old Brewer’s Yard. Taste it in the food and drink pairings masterminded between our brewers and chefs. See it via the programme of fantastic events we’re hosting.

There’s something for everybody here.

Here’s what Guinness Open Gate Brewery London has in store.

The working brewery

Once upon a time, Covent Garden was a thriving brewing district. And we’re bringing that craft right back into the centre of the city. The site itself was once a Victorian brewing powerhouse called Combe & Co., one of the many intriguing chapters in the history of the brewery

The brewing team, led by master brewer Hollie Stephenson, are crafting new innovative beers that range from crisp lagers to tasty pale ales to new flavoursome twists on sours. As Hollie says herself, “people are going to taste things they don’t expect from Guinness”. Of course, you’ll also be able to get a pint of the black stuff brewed at St James’ Gate in Dublin.

Get a glimpse of the creative magic on our immersive tours and experiences that brings you closer to Guinness than ever before. And taste the team’s creations via the ongoing rotation of beers across the site which will change with the seasons, sparking your tastebuds with exciting new flavours and innovative new brewing practices. There’s a pint for every palate.
